Helping Students Succeed

Since 1996, Tanger Outlets has made it their mission to give back to schools in the communities that we serve. Over the past 27 years, Tanger has given over $3.1 million dollars through grants and scholarship programs.

The TangerKids Grants program invites teachers and leaders within the education community to request funding for resources to support needs as they work to create a more productive and more inclusive learning environment for all. From modernizing literature and libraries, to purchasing adaptive and more inclusive equipment for recess, the grants awarded through the TangerKids Grants Program provides access for students to succeed in today’s classroom and prepare them for a brighter tomorrow.

Mission. Vision. Value.

A Note from Stephen Yalof

At Tanger Outlets, community is at the heart of everything we do. Throughout our 40-year history, we have made it our mission to be a good neighbor to the communities we serve, and our shopping center teams take great pride in supporting families and the future of local youth. The TangerKids Grants Program underscores our commitment to enriching the lives of the next generation by helping them reach their
full potential.

TangerKids Grants were created to satisfy the specific funding needs of community schools – from creating and implementing school-wide initiatives, to updating equipment and academic materials, to supporting extracurricular clubs, athletic teams and band programs. The past two years have created a more challenging environment for many schools, highlighting a greater need for resources and support – and many institutions have been forced to reimagine their programs, their classrooms and the ways they interact with students.

In 2021, Tanger awarded nearly $150,000 to fund over 130 grants across US. Forty-five percent of those grants served programs focused on inclusion — directly aligning with our environmental, social and governance approach. Since 1996, Tanger has proudly made over $3.1 million total contributions through school-focused initiatives, enabling more youth to achieve their aspirations and helping community partners strengthen
their resources.

We believe all students deserve opportunities to discover who they are and what they can achieve – and we are grateful for your support in helping us shape their journey.
